Olympic Knitting and Olympic Colors

I may not be suited to this Olympic knitting.  It seems I have a thumb injury.  I know that if I were a true Olympian I would shake it off and keep on going.  I have not done this.

I took advantage of this non knitting time to do other things.  Like dying.  I do love theses colors.  I loved them from the first time I saw the Olympians wearing them.

The ewes are still slow at lambing.  Only 22 lambs so far.  Still 45 ewes left to lamb.  What a cutie!!!  He was born with a weakness in his hip.  It does not seem to be broken or dislocated, just weak.  I put the wrap on his knee because it seems to help him.  He is getting around just fine.  In a few days I will take the wrap off and see how he does.  I just love the color of this fleece, don't you?

More big news on the farm...I will post some pictures tomorrow.

Out the window...

Today is snow!!!   I do love to have things covered in snow.  The sun is out this morning and it seems so much brighter.

Out the other side of the house, the steers don't seem to care one way or another about the snow.  They are looking for green grass.  But will have to be happy with the nice alfalfa/grass hay that they get.

Inside the barn is where the big news is!!!!!!   We have a ewe lamb out of one of our registered romneys.  This ewe won Champion Romney Ewe at the Big E in Springfield, MA  last year.  We are just thrilled to have a ewe lamb from her.  I took a few pictures...  Enjoy!!

We are knitting and spinning on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 and then again on Wednesday anytime from 10am to 4pm.  You are welcome to come and join us.  If you want you can peek at the lambs.

The Knitting Olympics

Call me crazy, I know your all thinking it.   I joined the Knitting Olympics challenge.  I will knit the Rambling rows Afghan in the lap robe size.  Some of you have seen me agonize of the color selection, but its done and ready to roll.   Its 5 colors just like the Olympic rings, but colors that will  go with the farmhouse.  I've joined the group from the Spinning Room in Altamont.

Other big news... the first lambs have been born!!!!  A set of twin ewe lambs...one black and one white.  Mom and kids are happy!!

Then just before evening chores, I went to check the barn and I just missed this delivery...

We are on our way to barn full of lambs!!!
