Lambing

So far we have 9 lambs on the ground, we are ready and waiting for a big explosion of lambs.  There are so many ewes that are uncomfortable.

The bigger story is the weather.  It is a challenge.  Snow, cold, and more snow and cold on its way.  This is a picture of the snow looking out of the barn window.  The snow has fallen off of the barn roof and in some spots its above the windows.  We're just thankful that the snow slid off on its own.   There have been some awful barn collapses in our area.

For some this snow is wonderful, they love the skiing, snowmobiling, ect... I've never been a big winter sport fan.  For me its great weather for spinning and knitting.  Theres nothing like sitting in front of the fire and working with fiber.   I'm doing a lot of both in between the trips to the barn.  I just completed the Mondo Cable Vest out of Ultra Alpaca.  I am also working on a new red scarf for February, spinning for a special project ( I will need 1200 yards!!), still finishing one last birthday gift, and I will also finish a sweater that I started this summer!!   Did you notice that I'm finishing a lot of things?   I am ready to cast on another project or two.
